Lazy Lagoon lies in the Zanzibar Channel offshore from mainland Bagamoyo, the capital of German East Africa and the 'gateway to the Dark Continent '. Not only can it boast nine kilometres of deserted beach, but it is also a natural reserve home to many small mammals, mangrove trees and patches of indigenous forest. An idyllic Robinson Crusoe Island, the perfect way to start or end a safari.

The blissful Island of Lazy Lagoon can be found in the Zanzibar Channel just off the coast of Tanzania . The island has nine kilometres of deserted, white, beach and a indigenous forest which provides a home to many small mammals.

It is the perfect place for sun worshipping, swimming and snorkelling but also offers kayaking to explore the lagoon and mangrove forest, sunset dhows to the coral reef and nearby sand islands or a visit to the historical town Bagamoyo.

Accommodation is provided in large, spacious, airy rooms with wide, shaded verandas. The lodge also provides a wide variety of fresh seafood with some truly imaginative menus! The only shortcoming is the distance from Dar es Salaam – it s about an hour’s journey by road.
